As an author, Laura Evans is drawn to characters and settings that aren’t quite as they seem – places with an edge of the uncanny, or people trying to find their space in the world – as well as stories that centre on the female experience and women’s evolving self-identities.
Her debut novel, Little Wild - a dark, literary coming-of-age story about obsessive love, revenge and the primal urge to belong - will be published in June 2026. She is currently working on her second novel, to be published in 2028.
Laura was born in Lancashire and grew up in the Midlands. She studied Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic at university before a career as a magazine editor, with a particular interest in travel and nature. A lifelong city-dweller who romanticises the countryside (but knows it would eat her alive), she spent several years in both London and Bristol before making her way to Norwich, where she lives with her family and Maggie, the world’s friendliest cockapoo.
